I am a monthly customer in a parking garage operated by the Harrisburg Parking Authority (HPA) and I received a bill from the HPA for January parking. Should I pay this bill?

Yes. HPA will collect all revenue from customers in January.

Your next step after January 1 is to go to this website: ParkHarrisburg.com/monthly-parking/ to register a new account for Monthly Parking which will assure you’ll receive an invoice for February 2014 and will assure your continued access to the parking facility where you park.

Please note that rates have increased as of January 1st. If you did not pay the updated amount, you should remit payment to:

Please include your card number and garage name & address with your check.

If you have not paid the increased amount by February, you should include the amount owed with your February payment.

Will my monthly parking card work after SP+ takes over the management of the garage?

Your card will still work but you will need to pay for your monthly parking to HPA as you have done in the past by no later than January 7 in order to assure continued access to the facility where you park during the month. Beginning in February, as in the past, payments will be due no later than the 1st of each month.

I am currently a monthly customer in one of the HPA garages. How do I register to maintain an account for monthly parking?

I do not currently have a monthly parking pass but want to register for monthly parking. How do I register for a new monthly parking

Please go to this website: ParkHarrisburg.com/monthly-parking/ and register for Monthly Parking. Once established, you will receive an email with instructions regarding payment and how to pick up your garage monthly access card.

How do I pay for monthly parking going forward?

Once your account is established, you will be able to pay online each month with credit card or you can setup an auto draft from your banking account.

I currently park at a garage (ex: Locust) but would like to move to another garage (ex: Walnut), what do I need to do in order to make that change?

You can complete the form online at ParkHarrisburg.com/monthly-parking/ and establish your account at your new garage. You may then come to our office at 223 Walnut Street, Suite 1 to return your current garage monthly access card. Office Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00AM – 4:00PM. You will need to come to the office at 223 Walnut Street, Suite 1 in order to pick up a different monthly access card.

Will garages still be open to monthly parker 24 hours a day?


Will patrons still be able to drop checks in drop boxes?

Payments for January 2014 and February 2014 invoices will continue to be accepted in drop boxes.  However starting with your March invoice all payments must be made online at ParkHarrisburg.com/monthly-parking or mailed to the address listed on your monthly invoice.

Can I still mail in payment?

Can I bring payment to 223 Walnut?

Payments for January 2014 and February 2014 will be accepted at the office located at 223 Walnut Street, Suite 1. Beyond February, please mail payments with your invoice to:

When will I be able to pay on line?

You will be able to pay online beginning with the statement for February 2014. Please check here again in January – we’ll be posting a link to the site at which you can pay online. Once we you have completed the sign-up form, we will email you when this option is available.

When will new rates at meters be implemented?

New meter rates will be implemented after new meters installed. Installation is tentatively scheduled to begin at the beginning of February 2014. An updated schedule will be posted here when an implementation schedule is fully developed.

When are meters enforced?

Meters are enforced from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday. There is no charge for meter parking on Sunday and major holidays which include:

– New Year’s Day
– Memorial Day
– Fourth of July
– Labor Day
– Thanksgiving
– Christmas

What information do I need to enter into the parking meter to park?

You need to enter your complete license plate.

When are the meters enforced?

8:00am to 7:00pm Monday- Saturday except Major Holidays

Can you pay with credit cards?

Yes. The new meters/kiosks accept credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover). The minimum charge when using a credit card is $1.50.

Is a receipt issued?

Not automatically. Receipts are optional; you must follow the prompt on the screen to print a receipt.

Do you need to place the receipt on your dashboard?

No, the receipt does not need to be placed on your dashboard. Keep it for your records only.

Do individuals with a disability have to pay to park?

Yes, individuals with a disability have to pay to park. But, as mandated by the State, they are entitled to receive minutes in excess of the time they purchase. The individual must display a valid handicap placard or have a handicap license plate.

Are the meter screens lit during the evening?

No. When any button is pressed, the meter screen will light for the duration of the transaction.

What if a meter malfunctions?

If a meter malfunctions, you can pay at any other parking meter.

Can I get a refund if I do not use the entire amount of time that I paid for?

There are no refunds because there is no way to determine the amount of time that you actually parked.

Can I extend parking by phone if I use quarters?

Parking can only be extended by phone when you use a credit card.
