SP+’s Four Harrisburg Parking Districts, Meter Labels Assist Parkers

Park Harrisburg, managed by SP+ Municipal Services (SP+), has four distinct districts within the Park Harrisburg system. Each district has differing rates and guidelines. Meter funds and times are not transferable between districts. A video tutorial on the new meters and a district map are available online at ParkHarrisburg.com.

Central Business District
All on-street parking in Harrisburg’s Central Business District is $3.00 per hour. Parking may be purchased with a credit or debit card, cash, or with a Park Harrisburg Smart Card. The minimum payment with a credit card is $1.50 for 30 minutes. Parkers can also purchase parking in five minute increments with quarters or a Park Harrisburg Smart Card.

Old Midtown District & South of Central Business District (CBD)
All on-street parking in Old Midtown and South of CBD is $1.50 per hour. The minimum payment with a credit card is $1.50 for 1 hour and customers can also purchase parking in 10 minute increments with quarters or a Park Harrisburg Smart Card. Metered spaces within the Old Midtown District and meters South of CBD do not offer the first 15 minutes free.

New Midtown District
All New Midtown District meters are priced at $1.50 per hour. The first 15 minutes of parking at these metered spaces will be free. As is the case throughout Harrisburg, parkers are required to enter their vehicle’s license plate into the nearest multi-space meter. There will be an option to select only 15 minutes of free parking for those who need to use the space for immediate in-and-out needs. Individuals that need more time can extend their parking by inserting quarters, their Park Harrisburg Smart Card, or a Credit/Debit card. For example, individuals needing two hours will effectively pay for 1 Hour and 45 minutes. The first 15 minutes are free. The minimum payment with a credit card is $1.50 for 1 hour, and customers can also purchase parking in 10 minute increments with quarters or a Park Harrisburg Smart Card.

Starting December 1, SP+ unveiled new on-street meter labels to better identify meter locations. Labels will be visible from both the street and when purchasing parking permits.
