With the launch of Parkmobile, City of Harrisburg residents and visitors will be able to conduct their parking transactions by mobile phone throughout the city

Harrisburg, Pa. (February 27, 2017) – Beginning March 1, 2017, Parkmobile, LLC, the leading provider of mobile-enabled parking and mobility-related services in North America, will be the new mobile payments provider for the City of Harrisburg. The company’s mobile payments solution will allow parkers to use their mobile phones to pay for parking at all of the on-street spaces managed by Park Harrisburg. Customers can pay with their smartphones using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for iPhone, Android, and Windows phones, or by calling the toll-free number on the Parkmobile meter stickers.

Pango, the city’s current mobile payments provider, will no longer be in service once full implementation of Parkmobile is completed by March 03, 2017. In the interim, customers should
use the mobile payment provider that appears on the meter signs and end-of-block signage in the zone that their vehicle is parked in.

A special announcement with the Mayor has been scheduled for Friday, March 10th, to officially introduce Parkmobile and to detail the exciting promotions to come, including:

LUVHBG – 4 hours of free metered parking on Saturdays

AFTER 5 – $1.00 per hour meter rate from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Central Business District

Parkers should register in advance by downloading the mobile app in their phone’s app store or online at www.parkmobile.com. After setting up their account, they can immediately begin using the system with their registered mobile phone.

With the most widely used mobile parking solution in the country and 5 million people using Parkmobile’s services over 30 million times per year, Parkmobile is excited to make a difference leveraging its best-in-class product in Harrisburg. Parkmobile also provides customers the ability to receive alerts when their meter time is about to expire, extend their time remotely without returning to the meter, utilize credit cards in locations that do not offer manual credit card payments, as well as print and keep receipts for parking.

“Parkmobile is thrilled to partner with Mayor Papenfuse and Park Harrisburg to enhance the parking experience for their residents and visitors,” said Jon Ziglar, chief executive officer of Parkmobile. “We are proud to work with Harrisburg to offer this technology and look forward to providing drivers a more robust means of parking.”

Parkmobile’s mobile payment solution is an added payment option and is intended to complement existing parking payment options. All existing forms of payment are still valid for use.
